The Great Fringe Rewatch 2011

Thirty years from now, when you're sitting around your fireside with your grandson on your knee and he asks you, “What did you do in the great Fringe Rewatch 2011,” you won’t have to say, “Well…I shoveled shiz in Louisiana.” — George C. Scott, Patton 1970

It was forty-one years ago that now famous line was spoken on the Silver Screen, but it still holds true today. How the makers of that film had the foresight to predict the awesomeness of Fringe, I'll never know. And more than that, if they knew how awesome it would be, why didn't they make the show then?

Wait a tick, I'm being told that's not how the line went. Apparently the Patton character was talking about some war, or something. I guess my brain has just been taken over by Anna Torv and company, and now I inject Fringe into every moment of my life. Want to see what that feels like? Well, my friends, join me as we rewatch the awesomeness that is Fringe unfold, from the beginning.

  • Psychokinesis?

  • Teleportation?

  • Nanotech?

  • Artificial intelligence?

  • Precognition?

  • Dark Matter?

  • Cybernetics?

  • Suspended Animation?

  • Transmogrification?

If these words interest you, you're in the right place. If they don't? Well then booger off. No, wait! Come back! Just know that they should interest you.

Fringe is possibly, nay probably, the most consistently intriguing show on television right now, and if you're not watching it, you should be.

Now you're saying, "Well I haven't been watching it, Wep. I don't want to be lost." Well have no fear. Starting Monday June 27th, you'll be able to watch it, or watch it again, right along with all your friends here at Castle Inanity starting at 8 PM Central (because let's face it, the Central Timezone is the best timezone, right fellow Midwesterners?). Then moving forward, we'll watch an episode every Friday and Monday. Make sure to check back into Castle Inanity for updates on which episode is on the docket.

And what episode shall kick off the fantabulous reviewing? Well the Pilot, of course!

"But Wep, I don't own Fringe Season 1 on DVD!"

Then you're a fool. But once again, you're in luck, my foolish friend. The WB.com has you covered. You can find the first ten episodes of Fringe's amazing first season here:

So with that, I think I've said it all. In fact, I've probably said too much. See you Monday, Fringeaphiles, and you guys are awesome. Peace.

  3. That's cool.
I've rewatched some episodes but haven't made a complete rewatch yet, so it's the occasion. There are so many stuff burried that make sense later, one rewatch will do me good. :)
I'll have to be careful not to spoil anyone though.

  4. Yay! Welcome to the party, Crumby! And yeah, we'll all have to watch that we don't spoil anyone But you're right. The show is SO well written. And everything happens for a reason. You hear that. EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. There's someone, somewhere that could use that little tip, I think (*cough*Schwedak and Co.*cough*).
