Never Gonna Give You Up

WARNING: CHAPTER 43 SPOILERS AHEAD!

So I got a few reviews after my little stunt at the end of 43 where people didn't know what Rickroll'd means, so I thought I would provide a link on the blog explaining:

From Wikipedia:
Rickrolling is an Internet meme...typically involving the music video for the 1987 Rick Astley song "Never Gonna Give You Up". The meme is a bait and switch: a person provides a hyperlink that they claim is relevant to the topic at hand, but the link actually takes the user to the Astley video.
You can find out more about it here.

And for a condensed and hilarious as heck education on internet memes, you can always go over to College Humor and watch We Didn't Start the Flame War.  However, be warned: severe language and VULGAR.  Do not click the link if you are faint of heart/do not like swearing/have good taste.

Will post a preview of Fates 44 tomorrow (since I'm not traveling this week) and on Sunday, stick around for Justin's lesson in screenwriting.  It's gonna be epic.

:)

So you haven't Rickrolled us once, but twice...
    What's next? Trolololol ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32UGD0fV45g )? :P
I welcome more memes into Fateverse.

  4. Hee, pretty close. Fates Sarah wouldn't have returned to California at the end of last episode. She would've taken over a local law enforcement office and made their lives a living hell while calling up every contact she had in Europe, including the ones that...aren't so savory. But telling a guy she knows 200 ways to kill him? I'm pretty sure Fates Sarah has told Chuck exactly how many ways she knows to kill him...in Chapter 4 of Fates...

Hm. More evidence that they're reading Fates? :)

I see you've completed your...something on the sidebar there. Yay (fake?) productivity!

And I feel somehow reassured that no, not everyone on the Internet was Rickrolled a couple of years back. Just people who are an unfortunately low number of degrees removed from /b/. :)

I still cannot believe you rickroll us. I though rickrolling was over with and the Internet was a safe place again. I though we could trust. You had me fooled.

You mean there are still rickroll virgins out there? Wow! I was sure anyone, who had a computer back then, would have been a victim of that cheesy prank.

My roommate now prefers to traumatize me by making me look at Manbabies.

(If you value your sanity, don't Google that.)

Frea, I'm afraid I've got some bad news for you, it appears your beloved Fringe is moving to the Friday Death Slot on Fox starting in January. http://www.aintitcool.com/node/47519

While I'm not big on Fringe these Fox changes through into serious question a couple of my favorite shows (Lie to Me and Human Target).

  9. The internet is the last place you should feel safe with me around, Lily. Also, true story, I never got rickroll'd, not even during the 2008 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. However, since Fates is still taking place in early 2008, I figured I'd make it times appropriate. :)

I didn't google that, Ayefah. I've heard the stories about your roommate. I know to fear for my sanity. :)

And JohnClark, doesn't it suck?! I think the only thing worse than Friday night is Sunday night, but with American Idol coming back, everybody else on Fox takes a hit. They've got some real quality shows (the two you mentioned, and Fringe of course) but unless there are people singing in them...guh. Guh, I tell you. Unlike Glee, Fringe improved and this is how it gets treated. *grumbles*

I'm not gonna lie I never got into Fringe so for my them getting stuck in the slot of death is a blessing as thats the slot that Human Target (a show I'm very high on) was supposed to occupy going into this season but thankfully got switched out.

This is the second year in a row Fox had too many solid shows with too many new shows coming in. I really hope they work something out that at least keeps Human Target. I'm afraid Lie to Me might not last much longer as its on its third show runner in as many years and has since the end of the first season spiraled slightly out of control. Hopefully if one of the shows has to go Fox will option them to Fx rather than cancel them outright.

  11. @Ayefah: Manbabies belong in Jeff's aisle of terror. Talk about creepy...

If the whole meme thing goes on on Fates, I expect Casey to crack a few Chuck Norris jokes next chapter.
