Well, that was simply fantastic. Really excellent work. I think this is maybe your best/my favorite of your videos so far (with the obvious exception of the Sarah video). You really matched the action and lyrics up to your clips even better than usual, I thought.
Just a really good job and I can see the effort you put into it. Thank you for sharing! I loved it.
Fantastic promotion of the show. You make Chuck seem like a wild roller coaster and thrills and excitement(which it is). I would like to request a song for a future video: Into the Fire by Thirteen Senses. I think it would be great for a romance or general video. Even if you don't great job on this one.
It's one thing to get things timed out to the beat, but it's quite another to capture the theme from the song and deliver it as if those scenes were shot for it. It wasn't until I watched it the third and fourth times that I really saw the subtle story you were telling (I guess I'm just obtuse that way!).
I think the art of making these videos is like learning to speak another language. Clearly, this is one in which you have achieved an advanced proficiency. It was fluid, it sizzled and I couldn't take my eyes off it.
What an amazing resume your videos are going to be if you decide to pursue this kind of work as a career. Truly excellent stuff.
I do not think this ws the intent, but in less then 2 minutes you have allowed someone to be able to watch season 4 who hasn't watched the show. Bravo, I will be sending the link to some people I have been trying to get to watch the show.
I'm so envious of your video editing skills: how you have perfectly chosen certain video snippets and relate them to the song, and not just that, how you perfectly blend one scene after another, and time them all perfectly to specific words in the song. It's superb. Really.
OH! I love that bit of an interlude somewhere around 1:13-ish with the lyric "make you feel" being dragged out, and there was an onslaught of images, one after another, blending perfectly with that clip of Chuck appearing to have been barraged with info overload. Another was that bit with Chuck screaming "Noooooo" and it was as if he's the one singing around 1:36-ish. Last but not the least, love the 3 second clip of all of Team Bartowski's members armed with a gun.
Needless to say, I'm in love with this video. Great great great job. *two thumbs up* I'd give you three, but sadly, my limbs fall in the mediocre category. Nothing extra. Nothing special. Teehee.
Okay, you guys have basically made my day. Seriously, thank you so much. I was already glowing with the feedback from Youtube, but then I come here and get blasted with sheer awesomeness. <3 To answer a few comments...
Aardie/zappeej: Yay! I'm glad people noticed the story element, because it's something I really work hard to portray in my videos, and is really what makes my video editing process so time consuming. Most of my hours working on a video are spent looking through each episode for the right clip for a particular part of the song. Of course, then I have to make sure it matches with the beat. That's always difficult, too.
OD: Hee. It's both. The two work hand in hand with each other. What happens is that I'll hear a particular song that I think would match perfectly with Chuck, so I do a little insight with lyrics and plan in my head what main scenes I could use for certain parts of the song. I'm always timing clips to music in these videos, but in the end, the music wouldn't have had as big as an effect on me if I hadn't been applying it to Chuck to begin with. ;) As for the smoke, it's actually not added; I cut out the extra tidbit in the scene where the glasses shortcircuit and start smoking. And for video editing, I work with a program called Sony Vegas 7.0.
Again, thank you for all of your amazing feedback. You guys are the reason I continue to make these videos. Seriously, without the support, I probably wouldn't last the endless amount of hours putting them together. Haha. :)
Um im literally speechless, this was and im not using this word lightly but chucking AWESOME. One of the best vids I have seen in a long time, and hands down the best this year!

Wow. That was really, really awesome. And I'm really not qualified to say much more about vids than that. :)

ReplyDeleteNicely done! As pointed out you really have mastered timing the video to the music. Or is it vice-versa? Or both? :D
ReplyDeleteBTW the smoke when Chuck falls at the end is something you added, correct? If so, nice touch.
I am sure you are probably tired of answering this but if you could indulge me, what tools do you use to weave your magic?
Congrats!
